Have Tottenham replaced Kyle Walker?

A slow transfer window has ended well for Mauricio Pochettino’s Tottenham signing right back Serge Aurier from Paris-St Germain for $37 million. Now his work permit has been cleared following his suspended sentence last year that caused him to miss PSG’s match with Arsenal in last year’s Champions League, Aurier has a lot to prove. And as we’re about to show you, he has a lot to offer. But is he an upgrade on Kyle Walker.?

Aurier, a man who has been capped 41 times by the Ivory Coast had a very impressive 2016-17, while he only played 21 matches he still made a big impact.

  • 19 fouls won
  • 23 chances created
  • Three assists
  • 22 successful take-ons
  • 34 tackles
  • 57 aerial duels won
  • 49 clearances
  • 31 interceptions
  • 836 passes, 89 per cent accuracy

Now let’s compare his form to Kyle Walker’s 2016-17 where he made 33 Premier League appearances.

  • 33 fouls won
  • 39 chances created
  • Five assists
  • 35 successful take-ons
  • 53 tackles
  • 58 aerial duels won
  • 100 clearances
  • 36 interceptions
  • 1152 passes, 80 per cent accuracy

While Aurier’s numbers were not as big as Walker’s you can say his form was fairly the same.
