Leroy George is on the top of his game

Melbourne Victory bounced back from their midweek loss to defeat Perth Glory in an 3-2 in an entertaining encounter at AAMI Park. It was also favourite son Leigh Broxham’s 250th match in the A-League, but all of that was was overshadowed by Dutchman Leroy George. He created all three goals in the win and looked dangerous almost every time he caught the ball. The 30-year-old was obviously influential in the win as he has been all season.

Wow! What a performance. But we shouldn’t be too surprised. George has been consistently good all season.

The Dutch winger has been one of the best players in the league this season being at or close to the top in more than category. Victory are into the top four with the win and his form towards the end of the season will make a huge difference on where they finish this season.

George’s performance overshadowed the fact Leigh Broxham came off the bench to make his 250th A-League appearance. No sweat, we’ve found a couple of stats to celebrate his milestone:

  • 5th most capped A-League player of all time
